We love Atelier because it is easy to teach and fun. It is also costly--you are paying for a video teacher, so if you need that help it is worth it, especially for kids who have progressed beyond your artistic ability. We have found that this program works well in a co-op setting, too.
If money is an issue, you will be better off using teachartathome.com or something like visual manna or art adventures at home.

Likes: The program is easy, everything is set up and even my 5 year old could follow the instructions and learn art techniques from the video teacher. His abilities did increase from the lessons.
Dislikes: I'm not sure that the lessons "stuck;" he didn't seem to apply what he learned in doing other art projects, only to the actual art lessons. Also, he didn't really enjoy the lessons, which was the real key to why we stopped. Being a perfectionist, he felt pressure to reproduce the teacher's work (although that is not in the program) and to do it faster. The lessons became a chore rather than a pleasure.
I would definitely not recommend Atelier if your child is a perfectionist.
Even if your child isn't, I do think this program is rather highly priced. I think you can probably get its equal for less.
