Subject: History
Levels Used: Volume One - From Creation to Christ
Dates Used: 2008-2009

Likes: If I had to use one word to describe this curriculum, it would be AMAZING! Diana Waring makes History literally come alive with her enthusiasm as she weaves the Bible and history together to make His Story! It actually begins with Genesis 1.

The curriculum includes CD's which the kids and parents listen to about different civilizations and events that took place during Bible times. She narrates all the stories and makes it fun for children and parents alike!

There are also workbooks for different levels (primary and secondary) to go with each chapter as well as a teacher's manual. The program is designed with every learning style in mind - auditory, kinesthetic and visual. It has a variety of suggested reading material, art and cooking projects, etc. to suit any style. While studying Egypt, our boys built a step pyramid out of sugar cubes...it was very impressive! We are planning to keep on with the rest of the series until we get to modern times.

Dislikes: Nothing! The only thing I would wish for would be more hours in a day and more days in the week to be able to fit more History into our lives!

Product: History Alive!
Levels Used: Ancient Civilizations and the Bible
Dates Used: 2005-2006

Likes: I had a friend who loved this curriculum so I decided to give it a try. The things that I liked about it were:

#1 It was very heavily "Christian" and creation based.

#2 It had many interesting project ideas and many learning opportunities based on your child's unique learning style.

#3 It was a unit study. It covered art, music, writing, geography and more.

Dislikes: There is no teacher guide and I felt lost. The curriculum required ALOT of lesson planning, getting books from the library, and gathering other supplies.
