McGuffey Readers have truly stood the test of time. Considered classics, these seven readers were originally published in 1836, and used to teach phonics, reading, writing and grammar to childen in 1st through 12th grade.

The readers start with beginning phonics and progress to one syllable words and advanced vocabulary. They will not only help children develop strong reading skills, but also build character and thinking skills, and introduce students to some of the best writer's of all-time.

The readers can be purchased seperately or as a boxed set with an accompanying parent/teacher guide.
