Saxon Math 1

I used Saxon Math 1 from the spring of 2005-winter 2006 with my son. He enjoyed the calendar activities and would sit down easily to write the date and the weather for the day. We enjoyed the manipulatives and flash cards as well. However, as this was my 1st year to begin teaching 2 children, it became a very time-consuming curriculum. Although I do feel that my son enjoyed the work and the methods introduced with the flashcards and meeting book, I found myself wanting to skip over the things I felt he knew well enough to "leave behind".
