Dates Used: 2006-Present
If you have a child with learning blockages, this product will be overwhelming. The words in particular for grade 3 were unusual and quite difficult. I thought they were unnecessarily difficult. For example, in grade 3, I can remember some really odd words for that age, hymn really jumps out at me. Interestingly, Grade 4 has words that are the same difficulty as Grade 3. In the future, I will skip their grade 3 product and use the Grade 4 and 5. I have previewed the grade 4 and 5 product and I like those levels.
If you have a child without any learning issues and you want to use Catholic content, then this is the product to use. It has the answer key in back, the words are rigorous. The exercises are good for spelling, religious/virtuous content. But I would never use these spellers if you have a child with dyslexia, dysgraphia, or other reading related learning problems. It would be a setup for disaster.
