Sonlight preschool is a literature rich program that uses children's books to introduce 3-5 year olds to the world around them, while helping them develop a love of learning. The company offers two choices for preschool programs.
Fiction, Fairy Tales and Fun for Little Learners is for 3 and 4 year olds, and is designed to be a gentle introduction to homeschooling. In place of an instructor's guide, parents will use a Parent's Companion, which includes activities for each story, tips for parents, and checklists for recording progress.
The Wonders of God's World, ideal for 4-5 year olds, teaches Bible, language arts, science, art and kindergarten readiness skills, while introducing children to world cultures using literature they will love. The instructor's guide contains flexible, 36-week lesson plans so parents can focus on teaching, not planning.
Both preschool programs are conveniently offered as complete packages that include all of the books needed, allowing parents to build a home library. Some parents may want to round out the preschool program by adding Handwriting Without Tears: Get Set for School and Singapore Math Earlybird 1A and 1B.
