Total Language Plus Curriculum Review

Total Language Plus uses award-winning literature as a base for its language arts program. The program is designed for students in grades 3-12, and uses carefully selected books that are interesting to both genders and are meaty enough to generate several weeks' worth of in depth study.

Though the books are not necessarily written by Christian authors, every study is written from a Christian perspective. The program is meant to be used by children of a variety of grade levels, and requires very little preparation time by parents.

As children read books that correspond to the TLP study guide they're using, they complete worksheets that evaluate comprehension, and teach spelling, vocabulary, writing, listening skills, and thinking skills, using examples from the books. The guides also provide suggestions for field trips and additional projects. Each guide should take approximately one quarter to complete, allowing children to complete 3 to 5 guides during a typical school year.
