Trail Guide to World Geography is kind of like a unit study. You start off with the world and go into North America, South America, etc. It breaks each continent down into sections, so you study each one thoroughly. Students answer two questions a day, four days a week. This is to be used for the whole year.
This guide can be used for elementary, middle school and high school. Lesson plans are given for each level. Lessons teach map skills, locations, using almanac and atlases. There are research and hands on activities to do. There are vocabulary words to learn and writing projects. At the end of the guide there is a literature study on "Around the World in 80 Days" that includes map skills, writing projects, arts and crafts, spelling and vocabulary, research and math skills.
This is the kind of geography that makes learning fun. I highly recommend it to everyone. My girls enjoyed this study.
